Kayak at Moore River Holidays

Kayak on the Moore River from our 40 acre backyard is the preferred activity for our guests wanting to stay at Moore River Holidays. At the gazebo located on the banks of the Moore River is the best spot to place your kayak into the river for easy access in and out of water. Kayak to the left as the river gets wider in width and depth. I always get asked how far it is to paddle to the mouth of the Moore River, Indian Ocean.it is approx 3 hours of paddling. This time does vary according to your experience. Appreciate the natural beauty of the Moore River next time you are up here. If you just want to self drive and make a day of it, go to the mouth of the Moore River and kayak or do some boating with Peter at Explorer Boat Hire.

Top Gear stays at Kym Illman’s Lancelin luxury in the Moore River region

LANCELIN resident Kym Illman chilled out with the stars of the BBC’s top-rating series Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson and James May.

The Top Gear Guys stayed at Mr Illman’s luxury beach home in the Lancelin town, while working on their Down Under Live version of Top Gear. The crew chose to stay in the peaceful surrounds of the Lancelin sleepy town, rather than have to deal with the throng of fans and media that would have dogged them if they had elected to stay in Perth.The pair made the 240km round trip to do the show by helicopter, which flew from the local primary school oval to Burswood helipad.

Top Gear thoroughly enjoyed their time in Lancelin and they simply loved the isolation and scootered around the Lancelin town whilst no one really recognised them. Just an hour and a half north of Perth in a car and you are there.

What to do once you get to Lancelin: Chill out, Visit the Pinnacles, sand boarding down the dunes and enjoy all the outdoor fun there is to be had at the beach.

Lancelin Primary School enjoy Seawrack Workshop

It is excellent to see the Lancelin Primary School community investing time in learning about their immediate environment with the Seawrack Workshop. The Lancelin Primary Schools backyard playground is the the beach. Therfore it makes great sense to use their outdoor environment as a part of their education. Wouldn’t it be great if maths meant you could build a sand castle and check with a ruler measurements and angles. Bring it on and get the kids outside into the real outdoors. Paging All Positive Peanuts, Dr. Frischer & Allergies

Just read a great article from Dr. Frischer, a previous peanut allergy sufferer. Reading between the lines of what he has written has also come from his personal experience. Dr. Frischer says ”Having had a past peanut allergy – Twenty percent of children with peanut allergies appear to outgrow them, but they may recur” This equates to a massive upto 80% of people do not outgrow the peanut allergy. It is great to hear from an experienced allergy sufferer and this shows again that we cannot promote allergy free zones, as they are a false sense of security for allergy sufferers, therefore management is the key.

Went camping at Moore River a 2 weeks ago and decided to take the missus fishing one morning
She pulled out 3, I got none and the old guy next to us got 1 (the other 9 guys got nothing)
She was using the red/white Halco popper and the tailor just went berserk. I did manage to pull out this bream on a lure, my first, I am so proud, you can see the pictures on www.fishwrecked.com/forum/guildertonmoore-river-tailor

N.U.T.S. about the Kardashians.Kourtney Kardashian’s son is allergic to nuts.

Kourtney Kardashian’s son Mason is allergic to nuts after eating a peanut butter sandwich.
If the Kardashian’s help us introduce, No Uniform Today N.U.T.S. FREE Dress Days in this day care centre then we could easily help them manage the allergy through the kindness of their community.
I do not advocate NUT FREE Zones at all, we cannot stop nuts being consumed, we can only get others to help us minimise the exposure and know some basic signs such as the welts and hives that may appear on the body.
The Allergy epidemic is a worldwide problem that is getting out of control. Allergy Aware management through our community is the key, as you do not know, we may one day be looking out for you!
Allergies are indiscriminate and can catch you when you are unaware, when the shops are closed or you are not close enough to a doctor, therefore all medical kits, households and business should carry an antihistime, just like the headache tablet.
To Scott, Kourtney,Mason and the Kardashian famliy, together with our community we will help you manage the peanut allergy. You may turn into a paranoid crazy nut parent over food allergies and labelling in the beginning, but I urge you to remain positive we will create change with your help.
